About the Position:

The EHS Specialist AA/S – III will report to the EHS Director, and will work independently supporting the Facilities Services Group and other various groups across campus to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local EHS requirements and best management practices.

The EHS Specialist will use professional knowledge, experience and judgment to assess, evaluate, and address complex technical issues relating to safety requirements. Senior Manager, EHS – Site Services

The Position

The Genentech EHS team maintains site-wide EHS programs and provides ongoing technical support and guidance at a site with a population of over 12,000 employees involved in research and pharmaceutical product development, manufacturing process development, clinical and commercial product manufacturing and warehousing, site utilities supply and facilities maintenance, project engineering, and marketing/sales/general administration functions. The team utilizes a risk-based approach for setting priorities and helping organizations manage EHS hazards in the work place.

The Senior EHS Manager supports the Genentech facilities located in South San Francisco and Dixon and will manage a small team of EHS professionals and be the primary point of contact and provide consultative support to their clients for all the relevant EHS-related programs, risks, and concerns.   • Responsible for all aspects of EHS, including OSHA, and environmental record keeping safety audits. And accident investigations and identifying workplace hazards.
  • Develop, evaluate and maintain department budget for safety area
  • Ensure the facility complies with OSHA and environmental laws and regulations
  • Develop, deliver and track participation in health and safety related training and OSHA related certifications
  • Lead plant ERT and Safety teams
  • Promote, support and develop local safety programs, such as BEAST and Near Misses, as needed
  • Provide ongoing support to department managers for safety meetings and department work modification
  • Reviews injury report to ensure all incidents are properly reported and appropriate action has been taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Prepare and submit environmental compliance reports to regulatory agencies.
